We have our winner! Commenter #66 – Cori! Congratulations Cori!
It seems the end of summer comes on suddenly, and every year I find myself standing with my arms out asking, “Where did the time go?”
Most summers, we close with a long weekend camping trip with a dozen other families. But due to schedule conflicts, we don’t get to do that this year. *sad face*
With the realization that summer is coming to a close, we often try to cram in a few activities in the last weeks of our freedom… ranging from a baseball game, trips to the beach, a trip to the zoo, and this year we are going to shell out some cash to take the kids on a local tourist attraction – The Ducks of Seattle.
Truth is, times are tight, and our summer excursions have had to stay local… even going to the movies can get expensive, but not if you have friends with a projector – and a white garage door! This summer we have enjoyed “Drive-in on our drive way” night!
How about you? What are some fun summer activities that you plan with your kids as the summer comes to a close? Please share it in the comments! If you do, you will be entered for a chance to win a $100 Visa giftcard! This contest runs 8/17- 8/24/2010. There are 24 other chances to win! we took our vacation early in the summer – just relaxing at home for the rest of summer – too hot here to do much!
I love hiking!
We want to go to the beach.
We have fun in the sun at the many pools Arizona has to offer….
Planning a trip to the zoo. Always a great time!
Nothing much, just planning on spending as much time as possible in the pool!
We are taking a last minute trip before summer ends.
We will go to the pool a few more times and have a few more barbeques!
We are hoping to make it to the beach.
One more trip to the mountains for biking.

I’m so sad that summer is almost over, how depressing! I’m trying to get my kids out whenever I can, I’m taking them to the circus this weekend

Swimming, swimming and more swimming. Thanks for the contest.
We like to go on a vacation but we hardly had any work so that didn’t happen this year.
We are planning a trip to South Florida for Labor Day. We are taking the baby to see the Grandparents.
We’re planning one last trip to the lake for swimming and s’mores
We go to Seabreeze Amusement Park, Hurd Orchards for one of their children’s programs, camping, sleepovers w/friends…as it gets really close to school starting, it’s less fun stuff like school supply shopping and hair cuts.
School has started here, but there is still fun things to do around this area. There is always the fall fairs and fall foliage tours and lots of sports activities going on at the local schools and we still love just going for a ride in the fall and having a picnic, in a pretty area along the way. Thanks for having the contest!
The kids are grown but hubby and I are taking a 3 1/2 week tour in the RV.
Both of my girls started fall softball last week so we will be spending all of our days at the ballfield. We will be there atleast 5-6 days a week so there’s no time to do anything else. lol thanks for the giveaway!
I would like to take my daughter to Cedar Point before the season is over.
Thank you for the great giveaway!
School has already started here so we would like to get in some more outdoor swimming on the weekends before it gets too cold to do do it.
Summer alas is gone! Last minute activities I do with my kids?
Well, if I had some extra money floating around, which unfortunately i don’t, but if i did, I’d take them all out to their favorite restaurant to eat and then ice cream sundaes for dessert.
Also I’d pick up the latest redbox movie at redbox!
Yup, that’s what I do.
I hope I win a $100 gift card so I can take my kids out to eat!
I’m dreaming of a mild winter (that won’t happen in Nebraska) but since it’s just a dream I’ll have to prepare myself with a few more long walks and maybe a trip to the lake to do some fishing.
I can console myself by remembering that football is right around the corner. Yeah!!
We’re hitting as many local festivals before summer ends.
