The daily grind. *They* don’t call it grind for nothing! For me, it’s not that everyday is the same… it’s that the week just keeps on coming! Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday… Set the alarm and — GO! GO! GO!
Like most women, I hit the ground running with my list of to-do’s… from deadlines to family needs to beyond! It is exceedingly easy to get caught-up in all the DOing and GOing. Whether I realize I do it or not, there are things I do to give my mind a break and add a little repreive from the chaos — even if tiny bits at a time.
- I always get my coffee on. It is a physical and psychological lift.
- I check in on the Facebook. I work from home, Facebook is my little water cooler. And also Twitter *cheesy grin*.
- My dirty little secret? 15 minutes a week I hit the tanning bed. I know, but I do… I live in the Pacific Northwest and I look VERY forward to my 15 minutes of warmth every 7th day! It is just about the only time my feet are without socks!
- I try to keep my hunger in check. It is easy for my to dig in and forget to eat. I am not very efficient when working on an empty stomach.
Speaking of food…
I just got to try the Ritz Crackerfuls Cheddar Cheese and Bacon filled crackers. To be honest, I was skeptical, but am a skeptic no more. The crackers are very tasty, and the bacon gives a nice kick! Besides… BACON!
Cheese-filled crackers often times have a bland flavor, but not these. And since they are packaged individually, it is an easy snack to keep in a desk drawer, or in the glove compartment when a gal needs to grab a quick *something* to take off that edge!
I’m curious. What is one thing you integrate into your day that helps you refocus, or helps you remember you are human and not just a GO machine? Well just stopping to think a while and concentrate helps recharge me, good chocolate can help sometimes too, well alot of times
a lil shouth paRK DURING THE DAY USULLY DOES THE TRICK!
I take a coffee break with some flavored coffee and have a snack.
I like to take a walk outside every day – even if it’s just around the block.
Taking a walk always helps me refocus and relax. Thanks!
I like to take out my old photo album and look at the past. It reminds me that although I might be mom and wife, there will always be Laura as well. It is helps me to remember who I am and how lucky I am to be here.
I take a few minutes at various times throughout my day to stretch…it seems to help. Thank you.
I take time to enjoy a crossword puzzle.
Sometimes if I’m by myself I just crank up the music and dance
My favorite way to keep focused is to start my way with a long walk on the beach before work and phone calls and emails start.
Honestly, sleep (especially an extra nap when I can get it) is the one thing that helps keep me feeling human! I work nights and have a newborn, so sleep is a precious commodity, and everyone around me knows when I haven’t had enough!
Many thanks!
I AM a Go machine. The only thing that makes me refocus is when I have to wait in the car for one of my kids to show up so I can drive them home. Then I sit there and read a book and appreciate NOT going.
I go for a short walk on the beach. It just puts me in the right state of mind to contiue my day!
When I have a few moments by myself I try to close my eyes and just relax on the couch or if I am feeling energetic enough I go online and just read things at random
I refocus by taking a walk without the distraction of an iPod.
I take quiet time to read.
Chocolate! Chocolate is the answer to everything! Chocolate makes everything right with the world!
Getting away from the craziness and listening to my favorite songs on my I-pod.
My iPod, which I always keep full of my favorite tracks on a playlist, is what I usually use to relax and take a break from the grind — it gives me a total “me” moment to escape from reality and enjoy something I love.
I play bejeweled on facebook!
I play bejeweled blitz on facebook!! No interruptions allowed!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I love taking an hour or so and snuggling with my daughter on the couch and watching a Disney movie
I get up two hours before everyone else of a morning and go to bed at least an hour later.
Of a morning it gives me time to think about the day and to do an hour of yoga.
Of a night it gives me time to unwind, check email and read blogs.
Thank you so much for the giveaway.

I go for a walk around the block and have an iced green tea everyday at 3pm.
I work from home and so every afternoon, about an hour before my husband and kids get home I take a nice hot shower. It relaxes me and takes my mind of work before my family gets home.
Spending time with my precious family
I take time to take my dog for a relaxing walk.
Yoga, it helps me relax and focus and get my head in the right place to survive the day!
I like to take a long walk, all by myself!

I like to watch a good movie
Bob Marley. He puts a smile on my face. I listen to him and the world around me is a better place.
I try to do a devotion or read a book or work on a puzzle, even if only for a few minutes. Helps me take a deep breath.
I take the dog for a walk, by myself, no kids allowed.
I take time to enter a few giveaways like this one.
I work at home and my husband works very early hours and is home by lunch time. Working at home alone I feel secluded at times but having lunch with my husband each day refreshes me. Thanks.
I find that if I can get in a workout and get my heartrate going, I really start to feel alive again, even if I’ve been down.

I break up my day by reading and petting my cat. Thanks for the contest.
I take the time to go to my fitness class, dance and enjoy!
I pet my cat.
I try to do a little research on something I’m interested in, for work or personal life.
I try to integrate a walk, be it 5 minutes or an hour, into my life everyday because taking that time really helps me re-focus
Usually I just take a walk, or stretch
Exercise is that thing for me, I try to integrate it into my day every day.
This may sound silly, but… when I need a break, I color! Yes, with a coloring book and crayons. It lets me be creative and it is very relaxing.
