Firehouse! by Mark Teague is a light-hearted children’s book with illustrations to delight the eye! It gives readers a peek into a day as a firefighter, from an imaginative and childlike perspective.
The main character, Edward gets to explore the local firehouse, go on a fire drill, and in the end gets to save the day! Of course, Edward’s lifesaving efforts are celebrated with a parade! As I read Firehouse! to my 5 year old, I watched her face break into smile when I turned to the parade… firetrucks and parades… the makings of a classic childrens story.
As a parent, I liked the brevity of the book. It is a great book choice… particularly for children with shorter attention spans… Like my 5 year old 
It is a solid story with bright and yummy illustrations, and a fun read.

My grandsons love firetrucks because their dad is a volunteer firefighter,so they think he is so cool,which he is,their favorite book right now is Doras Party Surprise,I read to them a lot ,they are 2 an 5 an cant read yet,but love books,thanks for this chance

I think firetrucks are cool because I am forced to drive past them every time we drive anywhere. I am sure the local fire fighters wonder why that darn Honda pilot is going by slowly again… but it’s because my 3 year old is obsessed .
My son loves any of the bird books by P. D. Eastman, like Are you My mother, The best nest and Flap your wings. He thinks it is pretty funny that the birds don’t know what the egg is, or where their home is or who their mother is.
My 3 yr old loves everything that rhymes or is sing-songy, we often end up singing the books instead of reading them.

My almost-2 will read anything with farm animals and animal sounds in it, and my 3 y.o. is a big fan of Cynthia Rylant books (Henry & Mudge, High Rise Private Eyes), and of course How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight. Great stuff!

My 4 yr old LOVES the How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight book (and so do I). She just toured a firehouse with her preschool and now officially thinks that is the coolest thing ever!
