I am the kind-of girl who experiences the heartiest and fullest laughter in the face of the mishaps of others. This is why America’s Funniest Home Videos is one of my favorite television shows. I know I am not alone in this. How many time have you heard someone say, “If I only had a camera!”

In that spirit, Flip invited me (along with 4 other bloggers) to share a moment I wish I had captured on camera. I only have to think back to several days ago. I live that kind-of life… My friend Lisa and I hit the big city of Seattle. We wore our heels and our Awesome. Let me just say this… I will never again leave my Flip at home. As we strolled in the cool evening breeze just a block away from Pike Place Market… an uneven slab of sidewalk — Took. Lisa. Down. Not unlike this, sans catwalk:

The contents of her purse went everywhere! A kind woman even had to bring her one of her shoes. I would have brought Lisa her shoe… had I not been laughing so hard.

On the flip side (heh, punny)… here is a funny moment that I am so tickled was captured on my own Flip HD camera:

there have been countless times since the birth of my oldest son that i have wished to have a camra to catch the moment forever, but that never happens and the memory fades and soon disappears. That is why its hard to recolect a time when i wish I had a camra….hmm…ok i walked into the bedroom on a recent visit to my mother in laws. there before me were my hisbands oldest and my youngest discovering a litter of kittens. brook age 6 was handing the kitten to angel whos only 2. it was the sweetest thing

I wish I captured my nephew at tee ball. His team had to go on the bench to wait to hit. Coach lets kids go on order of how they are on bench. They race he walked. last one on he then bumped into each child as one fell off the bench or got off. He become the first one. I know it was wrong but so funny to watch.

When the neighbor kids and mine filled tucked in their shirts and filled them up (and I mean FILLED) with pea gravel from the play set and then squeezed into the swings. They looked so funny – I think we would have done well on AFV if I had captured it on video.

I pretty much wish I had a video camera – or entire reality show crew – on hand whenever The ‘G’ is speaking (my 4 y.o.).

I wish I had a camera (last one we had was 8 years ago) not only for the fall down funny moments (btw~A Mom of two sees A LOT of),but for all of the milestones I can no longer recreate in my mind. I know I won’t ever get back the “first steps” and “first words” of my children, but life is full of firsts and I would so love to capture them on video.

I wish I’d had a video camera when, at the age of 4, my daughter stood up in a Bob Evens restaurant in Central PA to demand that George Bush give the presidency to John Kerry who should have won. Her republican grandfather and the other diners were not amused! I, however, was in hysterics.

I’m glad no one had a camera though the day said daughter decided to teeth on the flusher at Wal-mart.

I wish I had a video camera last night when my 3.5 year old son, Ian, asked me “where did Ian come from?” The look on my face had to be priceless as I worked out how to respond.

I wish I had a camera when my dh and I rescued a baby bird that was stuck in the mud near a pond. He looked stunned and, dare I say grateful? before he came to his senses and flew off.

With six kids there are so many moments… the expression of shock when honored with a single award at the end of the school year, the excitement and fun at a surprise birthday party, the babble of a baby, the happiness radiated when emerging as new man and wife, etc. etc. Life is precious, and so much fun to “replay”!

I think the story of the returning veteran is inspiring. I have seen many soldiers either returning or going overseas during my audit travels in the U.S. and England. Flip videos would have been lighter to use for many of their children and spouses who often had one small child in tow.

I wish I would have had a video camera the time two of my girlfriends and I went to Walt Disney World for a couple of days. We were at Epcot, and out of the blue (should have known with Florida weather) it started POURING down rain. We were instantly soaked. While every other (sane) person started running for cover, one of my crazy friends just started laughing and sticking out her tongue to try and get a little “drink”. Would have loved to be able to show her (and anyone we knew at home) what she looked like!

There are so many but a funny one was when I told my 70 lb. dog Daisy to “load up” in my truck which normally meant her jumping in the back but this time for some reason, she jumped right through the window onto my lap! I guess she thought she was driving that day?? lol!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I wish I would have had a video camera at my sister’s wedding. They didn’t get it filmed but it was a beautiful event and I could have done some nice stuff if I had a video camera.

I have nine cats…yep nine, and they all live inside with my wife and I. They keep us in stitches laughing sometimes. It would be awesome to have a video camera to catch them in the act of doing funny things. An example would be when Meeko was trying to get his big head in a tiny bag to get to something in the bottom (food of course) and he got the bag stuck on his head and sat up and the bag came up with him. He just sat there very proper, tail wrapped around his feet in front, with the bag straight up on top his head! Priceless!

It may sound cliche, but I really wish I had a good video of my wedding. We did our wedding on the cheap (even grew our own flowers!) and did not have the money to have it taped. A relative took video of the whole thing, but its jumpy and fades in and out and is just really horrible. She even missed me coming down the isle. Seeing as how I was SO nervous, I barely remember anything of my wedding and have always regretted not having a professional or at least BETTER recording of my wedding day.

My friend and her husband, and I, went out for the evening. We went to a nice local casino that had a great buffet restuarant. After our meal, we spent about $20.00 playing some of the games. Finally, after a couple of hours, we ran out of our money and it was getting late, so we called it a night and headed out to the parking lot. My friend’s husband decided to go and get the car so that we wouldn’t have to do any walking, since it was some distance away. Well, while we were waiting for him, my friend and I were in high spirits, having a good laugh about this and that, when I saw her car coming. I told her that her husband was coming and laughingly told her that she should stick her leg out and wiggle it suggestively at him, like a hitchiker… Well, she did it!!! She lifted her skirt a bit, stuck her leg out and gave it a suggestive wiggle. (now mind you, she is in her late fifties) Well, as the car turned our way, we both looked at her husband’s face to catch his enjoyment of the situation, only to our horror, and especially to her horror, it wasn’t her husband or their car!!! Needless to say, the young guy and his girl in that car, hurriedly drove past us….. I howled with laughter!!! And the look on my friend’s face was PRICELESS!!!!
