This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Wonder®
*Update! And the winner is…. Deb of the highly acclaimed Deb on the Rocks! Congratulations, Deb!
Do we have any bread lovers in the houuuuuuuse?
Me? I am a HUGE fan of bread. So is my family. Bread is a great vehicle for so many things… peanut-butter, jelly, meats, butter (oh sweet butter…) and let’s not forget a nice little cinnamon-sugar combo when one toasts up a slice of BREAD. Mmmm… yum… cinnamon toast…

We went through a lion’s share of bread this summer. We headed to a local beach quite a bit, and in an effort to save a few extra bucks, we packed sandwiches instead of swinging through a place that would serve us prepared food through a window. IfyouknowwhatImean. I might even go so far as to say we could call Summer 2009 “Our Summer of Sandwiches”.
So, naturally, wouldn’t fate bring bread to me… to write about… to video… to share about it – BREAD… No WONDER! *pun intended*
“But Jenny! Isn’t Wonder® white bread? You feed your kids white bread? Is white bread nutritious?”
Yep. Wonder® is white, and it is deeelicious white bread! Obviously, it’s nummy and soft, but did you know just two slices of Wonder® Classic White Bread have as much calcium as an eight ounce glass of milk (and no trans fat)? It’s a nice alternative.
It is also comparative to the calcium in spinach and red beans. I am not saying to not give milk, spinach or beans to your family… I’m just sayin’, there is another option if you find the kiddos don’t want the green stuff. AND one can easily beef-up a slice of Wonder® Bread with almond butter and a few slices of banana… bada-boom-bada-bing — calcium, protein and potassium to satiate a hungry little belly.
It was no surprise to me that in our own taste-test, my offspring loved the bread. We be bread people. BUT, I got it on video anyway. However, it WAS a surprise to me when my oldest 2 broke out into a little duet. I know I am a bit partial, but my kids are awesome *wipes tear*. Must be those strong bones…
Should I book an agent? *sniff* I smell fame. I will force them to live my dream. Kidding. I’m kidding about “kidding”. Kidding. Not…
How does all of this affect you? Well, you could try for yourself. If you want, you can enter to win a $100 Visa gift card and a year’s supply of Wonder bread (that’s 52 coupons for one free loaf of Wonder® Classic White or Wonder® Classic White Sandwich bread) - courtesy of Wonder®. Super Smart Tuna Sandwiches! I still remember getting ready for all those standardized tests in grade school- my teacher said one of the best foods for memory was tuna fish. I ate it straight out of the can all week! Now I’d add light mayo, celery, carrots, red onion, and some celery seed and toast the bread. So yummy and super healthy.
It may not be the MOST NUTRITIOUS, but we have recently used Nutella as a special sandwich treat. It is so chocolatey and delicious! Nutella does have some nutritional value as well. It is made with over 50 hazelnuts per jar, contains no artificial colors or preservatives. Do I sound like a spokesmodel yet?
It’s a toss up between pb&j and grilled cheese in this house…I’ve tricked them with natural peanut butter and no sugar added jelly, but they get suspicious when their grilled cheese is lumpy with veggies of any kind.
i keep trying to slip some spinach in there, even on the hubs’ sandwich….
We rock the Wonderbread here, cinnamon and sugar style. Also peanut butter and turkey, but not together because I have to draw the line somewhere.
Don’t tell anyone, but I used to ball up Wonder bread and dip it in sugar. I AM NOT KIDDING.
Alas, I don’t do that anymore. What I do like to do is add some honey to it. Nature’s sugar! Much better!
I try to add some veggies on all our sandwiches to make them more nutritious.
jedoggett@embarqmail.com
We use light mayo to cut the calories
I like to use all-natural peanut butter and jelly.
Ummmmm…I really like to make FRENCH toaste out of Wonder Bread ! Wow ! is it ever ooohhhlaalaaahh!!!!
I like to add fresh spinach and tomatoes to any sandwich!
We add lettuce and tomato to a lot of sandwiches, especially in the summer when the veggies come out of the garden.
Peanut Butter and Bananas
Nothing beats a turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato and avocado!
I can’t make anything because the kids eat it all up as toast the minute it hits the house. Then I have to go buy some wheat bread so that it will last a while. Does that count, can I still win? Maybe a years supply would last a week or two.
I add fresh, sliced portabella mushroom to my more nutritious sandwiches! (Does it negate that if I then add too much provolone AND cheddar?)
Other yummy additions are onion (either yellow or red), crisp spinach leaves, and avacado.
We love tuna on Wonder Bread!

Peanut butter and jelly is a staple at our house.
I blogged about this:
http://grand-giveaways.blogspot.com/2009/10/wonder-bread-giveaway.html
Wonder bread was always a treat growing up because we were “supposed” to eat the whole grain wheat bread. I’m glad my kids will get to eat white bread since it has added nutrients.
I think I may have to go buy some Wonder bread and make some cinnamon toast now. Yum!
I love to put fresh heirloom tomatoes on any sandwich to make it not only more nutritious but also more delicious! BLT, yum!
We add cheese for the extra calcium
Peanut butter and homemade strawberry jam are my favorite ingredients
We like our Wonder Bread with Peanut Butter and sliced bananas, just like I had when I was a kid.
Most call it wierd and that’s quiet alright, we love it anyway. What we love is rather a strange combination but I seriously think everyone should try it at least once. Two slices of fresh Wonder Bread, Peanut Butter on one slice, Mayo on the other. On the mayo side add a slice of cheese and a couple slices of ham. On the peanut butter side add another slice of cheese and some sliced banana. Slap the two sides together and enjoy with a glass of COLD milk. OH MY … so very good!
I like to make egg salad sandwiches to get a little protein in with the bread.
Sticking to the classic – PB&J. Yum!
Hummus, lettuce, cheese, tomato.
I use hummus as the spread & always put tomatoes on the sandwich to get in the extra nutrition.
toasted wonder bread, ranch salad dressing, fresh tomato and cucumber from my garden, sprouts, and cheese. Yummy!!!!! ajsahm@gmail.com
We like to add pesto our Wonder Bread sandwiches. That bread has been around since I was a kid and it still tastes as good now as it did back then. Thanks for the chance to win!
lots of veggies !
To make my sandwich more nutritious, I like to make your basic chicken salad, mayo, tiny bit of mustard, boiled egg, little bit of onion and sweet relish and the extra’s to make it more nutritious are that I cut up a cucumber in really small cubes and also add one or two artichoke hearts. I mix that all together and put in the fridge. Then when it’s time to serve, I will cut up a tomato in little pieces and mix that in. Toast the wonder bread and then add the chicken salad and wahlah! lol It’s really yummy! TY for the giveaway. Groceries are so high right now and winning anything to lower that bill would be super!
Keep it simple! There is nothing more blissful than a peanut butter sandwich on Wonder Bread.
We LOVE Peanut Butter Sandwiches in our household!
Tuna-fish! There are so many different ways to make it. With relish, or without, with mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers. Yum, yum, yum, yum.
We like to add fresh fruit, lettuce, eggplants, ham and cheese!Yum!

I love a tuna ,onion, lettuce and finish it off with tomato on Wonder Bread!! I use low cal mayo and the veggies make it super healthy!
Thanks
Turkey sandwich, if I’m being good. Grilled cheese if not!
We love our Wonderbread stuffed with turkey breast and all the veggies I can fit in! Thanks for the chance!

Hubby leaves in the morning pretty early, 6am. So I like to send him off with a bacon/scrambled eggs/cheese on toast. That way he doesn’t have to fight the urge to pull into a drive in on the way to work, or grab something out of the vending machine once he is in his office.
Grilled Cheese is always a favorite! My fiancee likes peanut butter and sweet pickles. He also likes peanut butter and miracle whip…yuck!! We also like cream cheese and ham! This giveaway would be really helpful to our family!!! We all love Wonder Bread and the Visa card would be great for the holidays! Thanks for the chance! bekki1820cb@gmail.com
Lots of peanut butter and banana sandwiches around here. Sometimes we put raisins on it, too.

Peanut Butter and bananas for a quick, healthy breakfast.
We toast bread and add P & j…with a glass of fat free milk. Mmmmm!
My kids actually like open-face Wonder Bread sandwiches — and have two favorites:
Toasted Wonder Bread with reduced fat creamy peanut butter & drizzled honey
AND
Wonder Bread with sliced avocado, topped with Meunster cheese (then melted!)
Both taste *Wonder*ful!!!
Here’s my tweet about this great giveaway!
http://twitter.com/GradSchoolMommy/status/4950665510
I try to use very small amounts of things like mayo or butter and pile on the veggies…tomato, onion, cuke, lettuce, olives. Mmmm
I toast the bread then add a cheese and lean ground beef patty to it. You can make a tuna melt this way too. Adding lettuce and tomatoes to sandwhiches makes them better too.
I love to toast my bread and add hummus! Sometimes I even add it to sandwiches when I use turkey!
In my family, we use organic peanut butter and sugar free or low sugar jelly on our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with wonderbread to make the sandwiches more nutritious.

I like roasted turkey breast (especially leftover from holiday turkeys), its low fat, high protein, and makes a perfect sandwich!
The number one is grilled cheese!
Definitely vegetables. We add lots of vegetables to sandwiches!
Blogged: http://amoores.com/2009/10/20/i-wonder-what-the-favorite-sandwich-is/
I would have 2 say BLT sandwiches, with cheese
I shake a little wheatgerm on the bread then who cares what I put with it – already healthy. In a pinch, a little flaxseed meal. voila. They never know.
I love spreading avacado on my bread instead of mayo! Yum. The husband has started using the Kraft olive oil mayo on his with some turkey. Working on getting the kiddos to eat veggies on their sandwich but they love them some pb&j.
I love to make a hummus, lettuce, tomato, and avocado sandwich!
We like adding tomato, cheese, and lettuce to out Wonderbread sandwiches. We also make Peanut Butter sandwiches with banana!
Fun and tasty. Thanks!

We add veggies to our sandwiches. Depending on the sandwich, we add tomatoes, lettuce, onions, olives, avocado, celery (chopped up for tuna).
We add Jif peanut butter and bananas to our delicious Wonder® sandwiches to make them even more nutritious.
We have several favorites, the sandwich-loving family that we are.
Almond butter and homemade blackberry jam (drooling at the thought)
Turkey breast, mayo, cranberry sauce, romaine and tomato
my kids and hubby love grilled cheese (*yawn*)
and when I was preggers, I *craved* BLTs like there was no tomorrow.
Almond butter or natural peanut butter. I know, I’m not very adventurous.

I would add PB & J.
we add raw spinach to make it more nutritious!
wonder bread builds strong bodies 12 ways so it goes a long way towards making all the sandwiches I serve healthy. I also make sure I use low fat cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes on our turkey sandwiches so we get some calcium and some vegetables.

Jenny – I am just back from a a detox retreat that was pretty severe. We lived on carrot juice and volcanic mud for 7 days and I am now a new person (!). I no longer eat bread because it is EVIL.
Seriously I have stopped eating it. After all the lectures we sat through I can’t face it. So my contribution to this is, give it up. Evil grin.
We like to add lots of deli meat, organic cheese, and mustard. Even our 14 month old loves a good sandwich.
I add red and green bell peppers to chicken salad sandwiches. It adds nutrition and tastes great too.
SPROUTS! We love to add veggies to our sandwiches but sprouts are the family favorite!
Making my children’s lunches every day for school and packing one for my husband for work is alot of sandwiches. This sure would be a HUGE help!
Mmm, turkey, avocado, lettuce and tomato on Wonder bread is divine.
We add peanut butter and honey to our Wonder bread. YUM
The biggest thing we add to our Wonder bread sandwiches to make them healthier is cheese. My kids love all kinds of cheese, and so do I.

I had to think is there a single thing healthy about the sandwiches we eat? Well… they aren’t so bad. But with a family of 6 it never fails that I am making 6 different kind of sandwiches. My husband likes his open faced, topped with lettuce… less carbs you know.
My son must have ham and cheese. The girls… depends on the day of the week. They are girls… they reserve the right to change their mind at any given moment… without prior written notice.
