Pocket Doodles For Kids – A Book Giveaway!

Pocket Doodles for KidsDo you have or know a kid that likes to doodle?

Oh – I see see you… and you? Oh, and YOUR kids love to doodle too?
What?
Can someone please pass the mic to that pretty lady back there – yes that gal, the one on her internetz… yes. That one, in her jammies with the cupcake frosting on the edge of her lip. Can you speak into the mic, ma’am?
“My kids like to doodle on the walls and even on the seats of my car!”
Oooooooh. Mmmm-hm. Yes, I think most moms and dads can relate to that.
Might I suggest a little distraction?

It’s a little book your blooming arteest can pack around… the house, the car, standing in the aisle while mommy is chatting with her BFF at the grocery store…
My 7 and 10 year olds love it!
A cleaner-thing
Above: My son invented “…a machine that will clean your room for you.”
Below: Notice the dark lines? That was the drawing “prompt”. The directions ask, “What can you make with these doodles?” This is what my daughter made:

I received an email from the author’s publicist asking if I might do a review. I recognized a website link in the email – www.makebeliefscomix.com.
I was all, “Hey! I know that URL!”
My son learned about that site at school and that site had been his #1 destination on the web. It’s a site where you can make your own comic strips. How cool is that?
So. When I got the email about the review, it was a no-brainer! I knew my son already loved Bill Zimmerman’s work, and it provided me the opportunity to share a fun resource with you! Not only do I get to tell you about this inexpensive (the book can be purchased on Amazon for $9.99) creativity tool for kids, but they want to give one to you!
I’m thinking this book would be a great stocking stuffer. Let’s face it folks, Christmas will be here before we know it.
Lemme see… the giveaway… If you would like to win this fun book, just leave a comment! For an additional entry, Tweet a link to this post and then be sure to leave that link in a separate comment. This giveaway will go until 5 p.m. PST — September 21st.
I TOTALLY recommend this fun little book. My kids often struggle when I give them a blank sheet of paper. They look at me and say, “I don’t know what to draw.” They WANT to draw, but need a “starter”. This is a great book of starts. Well done, Bill, well done!

Update: The winner is Jenstew75!!!

My 6 yr old would love this book! He’s “written” in a notepad since he was a toddler. Now that he’s older he loves to doodle as well. It would be awesome to have during church. Thanks for this offer.

Well, we all know how it is to travel, even to the grocery store, with children in the back seat. This would be fun. I would love to hear the scratch of a pencil on paper rather than the Nintendo DS jingles!

I’ll bite. I’ll enter this giveaway. Even though I hardly ever win anything. Although I did win some Twilight dolls awhile ago which I blog about every week which makes people think I need little pills or maybe some padded walls. I think they’re just jealous. Which all the kids my girls know will be jealous if I win this Doodle Thingy which I will give to them. Which they will doodle in and fight over and I will be forced to buy another one so as to be fair. But our car rides will be SWEET. I’m thinking this is the longest giveaway comment ev.er.

My kids doodle! Thankfully they are past using the walls and floors as their choice of canvas. But I love things to do in the car as I am one of ‘those’ moms against dvds in the vehicle sooo this is great!
