Day 5: Crystal Light Water Way Challenge

That's Crystal Light Lemonade in my cup!

That's Crystal Light Lemonade in my cup!

This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Crystal Light Water Way Challenge.

Hey y’all. We did it! I just had a fully-hydrated week! I went from about 16 ounces a day to an average of 56/60 ounces. Still a bit short of the recommended 64, but… I am feeling pretty good about the improvement.

How did Crystal Light help? It changed things up. Instead of sucking down ounce after ounce of plain water, it was nice to add some flavor.

I didn’t have a strategy, just intent. I found it helped to make a pitcher to keep in the fridge. I found my kids liked having a pitcher of lemonade in the fridge too! Each day I drank an average of 16-24 ounces with a Crystal Light flavor added.

My favorite flavor was the Peach Tea. I enjoyed the Wild Strawberry energy flavor (60 mg of caffeine per 16.9 oz serving) as well as the Pomegranate Lemonade (skin essentials).

I am sorry Crystal Light, but I was not wild about the lemonade. But it’s me, not you. I am actually not a huge fan of lemonade… nor orange juice. I find I am not much of a citrus beverage fan. I am not a juice drinker. But if I do, I am a berry girl. It is not your fault, Crystal Light, it is the fault of my taste buds.

A little something that I did too, was dilute my beverages. Though I like sweet things, I tend to like my beverages with a little less flavor kick… especially if I am thirsty. I like more than a hint of flavor, but I dilute most drinks when I have the option (for example, I can’t dilute carbonated beverages, but I will dilute juices…). Except for adult beverages. I like those to strong. Like my men me.  Just to be clear.

The entire journey can be found in this one post!

Day 4: Crystal Light Water Way Challenge, Yo.

Day 4This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Crystal Light Water Way Challenge.

I went to the county fair today.

I drank, like, 60 ounces of water. I have to guesstimate a little on account of the fact I had to share with my offspring. Ya know. I’m a good mom like that.

I owe 18 of those ounces to Crystal Light Lemonade. It was a nice change, and added a little pep to the late morning.

Day 3: Crystal Light Water Way Challenge

Day 3This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Crystal Light Water Way Challenge.

Day Three. I woke up to a parched throat and sucked down 16 ounces of water within my first 30 awake minutes. It seems the more hydrated I become, the more my body wants hydration.

Currently it is about 10 in the p.m. and I am sucking down the last 8 ounces of what will be 64 ounces for the day. In addition to a 16 ounce latte. And another.

Today I just went with 16 ounces of Crystal Light Peach Tea. I made a pitcher yesterday, and have handy access to it in the fridge. I might have gone for juice or soda without that pitcher in my fridge.

I had wanted to open up and try the straight lemonade, but was diverted when my 4 year old dove (DOVE!!!) off a barstool onto a sea of pillows and blankets, rolled over and an edge of the barstool hit her just above her right eye when it fell.

Blood.

And a 2 hour trip to urgent care. And glue to close the gash.

And this mom is tired. Urgent situations sure do drain a gal. I am just relieved she is absolutely fine. My t-shirt that got bloodied up may have fared the worst out of all this. That is fine with me ;)

Day 2: Crystal Light Water Way Challenge

Crystal Light Challenge Day 2This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Crystal Light Water Way Challenge.

As of this writing, I have consumed 48 ounces — 16 ounces of water hopped up on Crystal Light Energy (has caffeine – SHAZAM!), 16 ounces of plain water and 16 ounces of the Crystal Light Peach Tea (my personal favorite).

My bladder has been working hard to keep up with all the action she’s been getting. I am posting before I have completed all my intake for the day… because I’m am going out people! I am off to sing karaoke with a live band. Any requests? *crickets chirping*

This has been good. All this water drinking and such… I just feel better knowing I am making a good effort in being healthier… sans the fast food lunch I had today. And the choice adult beverage I’m gonna have tonight.  In reality, I would have had the fast food lunch and the adult beverage anyway. Now I have the comfort of knowing I made some good choices (aiming for the full 64 ounces by nights end) today!

Day 1: Crystal Light Water Way Challenge

Crystal Light Day 1This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Crystal Light Water Way Challenge.

Let the hydration begin!

Today I drank 56 oz of water… only 8 ounces short of the recommended 64! It is approximately 48 more ounces than I drank yesterday. I added Crystal Light’s Pomegranate Lemonade (Skin Essentials) to my first 16 ounces of the day. I actually added a couple extra ounces of water because I like a lighter flavor and sweetness. My adjustment lent to a delightful drink to sip on as I worked on my to-do list. Later on I made a pitcher of Crystal Light Peach Ice Tea *nomnomnom*, poured 16 ounces in my favorite re-usable water bottle and sipped it to it’s end while running the kids around town.

I Say, Bring On The Crystal Light Challenge!

This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Crystal Light Water Way Challenge

Alright. I guess I should probably get serious about this whole “water thing”. I know water is important. As a non-competitive (butt committed) exercize-ess, I know water (read: hydration) is a key component in my success in not passing out on those longer death marches runs. However, adequate hydration is not only good for folks who fancy running and such… In fact, I notice that when I drink enough water, the numbers on the scale are kinder numbers. I notice my complexion behaves better. My body just takes on the day better.
